Thanks for stopping by!

CHIP G. KNOTWORKS

I’m going to be completely honest… I am still fleshing out a formal bio (definitely the most difficult part of making a website), but here’s a rundown:

Who am I?

A Midwesterner-turned sailor who loves old boats.

What do I do?

I’m a tall ship sailor and rigger who has been working for various sail-training vessels associated with Tall Ships America since 2020. (Vessels include: S/Y Argo, Harvey Gamage, AJ Meerwald, and Lady Washington) I hold an MCA-Certified 200 tonne limited Master of Yachts with sail endorsement, and I recently graduated from the Northwest School of Wooden Boatbuilding in Port Townsend, WA with an associate’s degree in, you guessed it, wooden boatbuilding! Aside from boats, I have been an artist and graphic designer semi-professionally since 2015 and currently use those skills to supplement my seasonal income when I’m off-contract. In my free time you can find me: sewing, drawing boats, reading about boats, brushing up on my decorative marlinspike seamanship, and playing guitar.

Why are you here?

I assume because you either saw my art, picked up a business card, or follow me on Instagram. If you like what you see, consider subscribing to my newsletter! Every month you’ll get an update on my adventures and projects straight to your inbox, with the occasional promotion or discount. The first email blast will come sometime in January. I appreciate your support!
